Wilda R. Parks, 88 of Madison, Mississippi and formerly of Chattanooga passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Madison, Mississippi. She was a member of Olde Towne Community Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Mrs. Parks had been greatly involved in Women's Missionary Union of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. She was host of the radio program "Pathways from the Heart" and authored two books: "Pathways from the Heart" and "This Too Shall Pass". She served on the board of directors of WMBW Radio and had served as church secretary for Woodland Park Baptist Church. She was a...

Wilda R. Parks, 88 of Madison, Mississippi and formerly of Chattanooga passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Madison, Mississippi. She was a member of Olde Towne Community Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Mrs. Parks had been greatly involved in Women's Missionary Union of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. She was host of the radio program "Pathways from the Heart" and authored two books: "Pathways from the Heart" and "This Too Shall Pass". She served on the board of directors of WMBW Radio and had served as church secretary for Woodland Park Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Central High School and McKenzie Business College. She met her late husband, Joe E. Parks while serving at Woodland Park Baptist Church. Joe was a well-known church musician in the Chattanooga Area and Music Teacher for Hamilton County Schools. Joe preceded Wilda in death.
Survivors include three sons, Michael E. Parks (Randie) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marty R. Parks (Vicki) of Jackson, Mississippi and Monty J. Parks (Janet) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Cale Parks, Kylie Parks, Brandt Parks, Jarrod Parks, Stanford Parks, Sarah Beth Parks, Joel Parks, Josiah Parks and Emily Parks; one great-grandchild, Florian Parks.
A celebration of life service was held at 11 AM Friday November 25th at Olde Towne Community Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with F. L. Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 1 PM Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN.
