James (Jim) Westbrooks died peacefully on September 7, 2017. He was born in Horton, Alabama; he lived and worked in the Atlanta area in his early adult life. In 1970, he founded Prestige Sales Co. Inc. in Chattanooga, a storage distribution facility which still exists. He remained President and CEO until his retirement.
Jim loved spending time with his family, his many friends and the grandchildren whom he loved so much. He had a great love for boating and traveling. He traveled to 64 countries with his wife Betty and special friends, Jeri and CD Hilliard. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will truly be missed by all.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, a member and past president of the Serra Club of Chattanooga, and a grand knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army while stationed in Germany.
Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Kiefer Westbrooks, children Gail (Jim) Howard of Berea, KY., Robbie (John) Williams and John (Joanne) Westbrooks, both of Chattanooga, Lisa (John) McMahan, Ponte Vedra, FL., Steve (Monika) Westbrooks, Marietta, GA., brother Gary (Jean) Westbrooks, and 7 grandchildren, Tim, James, Elise, Mattie, Grace, Carter, and Kiefer.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Jim's life will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday September 16, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. with Father Jim Vick officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m.
A special thanks to Kathleen Conner who has the gifts of love and compassion in times of others need. Jim treasured the memories of laughing and singing with her and her late husband, Jack.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Jim's honor to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Alzheimer's Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr # 22, Chattanooga, TN 37421, the Heal (Helping Every Autistic Life) Foundation, P.O.
