Harbin R. Carr, age 94, of East Ridge passed way Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was born in Rome, Georgia to the late Mamie and Grady Carr.

Harbin was a US Navy Signalman serving onboard the USS Kendrick DD-612 during WWII. After returning from the war he started Stride Rite Bootery in East Ridge. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Harbin is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Carr and sister, Mildred Camposano.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Virginia Carr; daughters, Toni Barksdale and Linda Friederichsen; granddaughters, Dana (Howie) Scarboro and Ashley (David) Davis; great grandchildren, Hunter Davis and Savannah Scarboro; sister, Marie Shinn; two nieces, several great nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be 1-3PM, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel.

A funeral mass will be 11AM, Monday, August 14, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the East Ridge Animal Shelter or Chattanooga Humane Society in Mr. Carr's name.
